CHI Residences Sheung Wan set for an expansion

11 Jun 2011

Hong Kong-based serviced apartments group, CHI Residences, will expand their flagship Sheung Wan property in August to include more amenities and units.

CHI 120 will get four new units bringing the total number of units from 19 to 23. On the second, third and sixth floors, one-bedroom apartments will be added while the 28th floor will get a duplex with a rooftop garden.

The project will also see the refurbishment of the reception area and introduction of a business centre, coffee shop and a gym. Previously, health-conscious guests at all CHI properties would receive a complimentary membership at a nearby California Fitness Centre. The property will remain fully operational during the expansion works.

Pilar Morais, chief executive of CHI Residences, said: “With the demand for CHI 120 averaging at 90 to 95 percent occupancy in 2010, it is important that we provide sufficient supply while maintaining our high standards of service.”

High demand for service apartments in Hong Kong has seen several new property openings recently. In May, Oakwood apartments opened it's first property in the city (see story here) following hot on the heels of the Ovolo group, which opened it's seventh property in April within the up and coming West Kowloon district (see story here).
