The Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh is to be rebranded as The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, next summer, following a £24 million investment programme.
The hotel will be the first under the Waldorf brand in Scotland, and the third in the UK joining the Bentley in London's Kensington district, and the recently-opened Syon Park, located seven miles to the west of central London.
The 241-room Edinburgh property will convert to the Waldorf Astoria brand in summer 2012 - £10 million has already spent on the hotel, with a further £14 million investment planned, including “additions and improvements to its stunning facilities and services including the public spaces, rooms, spa and restaurant.
The hotel opened in 1903, and is located on the city's famous Princes Street, with views of Edinburgh Castle.
The Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts brand currently has 24 properties within its portfolio, with a further nine set to open by the end of 2014, including Waldorf Astoria Sevilla at La Boticaria later this year, and hotels in Berlin and Jerusalem in 2012.
