All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Continental Airlines, a subsidiary to United Continental Holdings, have announced an expansion of the number of trans-Pacific flights included in their code-share agreement.
From June 1 onwards, ANA’s NH code will appear on flights to and from Sapporo, Niigata, Tokyo Narita, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka, and Guam.
Meanwhile, since May 1, daily Narita-Houston and Narita-New York flights have also been included in the codeshare.
These two airlines first started codesharing on March 28 last year initially including select trans-Pacific routes as well as ANA and Continental’s domestic flights. The carriers also launched their revenue sharing agreement earlier this year (see story here) at around the same time as competitor, Japan Airlines (JAL), launched a similar agreement with American Airlines (AA) (see story here), reflecting high demand for trans-Pacific flights.
