Air China to open a free lounge in Beijing Capital Airport

Air China is opening a passenger lounge in Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport on June 1, 2011, and entry will be free for all customers no matter what class they are booked in.

Located on the second floor, the facility offers free wifi internet access, showers, complimentary beverages and complimentary printing and faxing services. It also consists of three separate rooms, each measuring 15sqm, offering guests beds or sofas as well as a television and a clothes rack.

To be accommodated, passengers are required to make reservations at the Air China transfer counter in the airport.

Initially, the lounge will operate on a trial basis until June 15 for first and business class passengers on the flights from Frankfurt (CA966), Vancouver (CA992) and Frankfurt to Hangzhou via Beijing (CA932). It will then be opened up to more passengers.

  • Nice idea, AirChina! But only 3 rooms to accommodate all those widebody jets’ passengers?
Only time can answer if other airlines will follow suit or the concept will be buried in time…
