Hyatt Regency Chicago unveils US$90 million refurb

19 May 2011 by BusinessTraveller
The Hyatt Regency Chicago has completed a US$90 million room refurbishment. The hotel, situated on the Riverwalk downtown and open since 1974, is the largest in Midwest US, with 2,019 rooms and suites. All have been fully renovated with a contemporary grey and orange colour scheme, Hyatt Grand beds, queen-size beds replacing doubles in the two-bed guestrooms, new carpets and soft furnishings, and elegant, modern bathrooms. The bathrooms are designed to have a decreased environmental impact, with low-flow showerheads, sink aerators and low-flush toilets. Rooms also have digital thermostats with occupancy sensors and energy-efficient lighting. The corridors have also had a thorough makeover, with new artwork, lighting, floors and ceilings. Facilities at the property include a steakhouse, bistro, Irish bar, 24-hour gym and extensive meeting space. Visit chicagoregency.hyatt.com for more information. Report by Prudence Ivey
