Lufthansa to revamp Boston and Dubai lounges

10 May 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Lufthansa is to revamp its lounges at Boston and Dubai, expanding the Senator facilities at both airports.

In a release the carrier says that “Lufthansa First and Business Class passengers and Miles & More customers with a Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle status can look forward to a significant improvement in the Lufthansa lounge service at Boston and Dubai airports from summer 2011”.

The improvements include revamping the existing combined business and Senator lounge at Boston airport into a Senator-only lounge, with a separate business class lounge located opposite. Lufthansa says the entire lounge area will be more than doubled in size, with both lounges featuring a “welcoming new design”, with 130 seats in total, and a larger “more modern” bistro area.

While the existing lounge is closed for refurbishment, eligible passengers are invited to use the Air France lounge in Terminal E, located after security opposite gate 3B. The works are expected to be completed by August/September.

Meanwhile in Dubai the new-look Senator lounge will feature 68 seats, “considerably more space to relax or work in”, and a “high-quality selection of food and beverages”.

Once the new Senator lounge opens, business class passengers will be invited to use the airport-operated Marhaba lounge, located opposite gate 123/125, and currently being used by both all Lufthansa passengers while the works on the Senator lounge take place.
