Hiair to launch Doncaster-Amsterdam service

9 May 2011 by BusinessTraveller

New airline Hiair is to trial five-times weekly flights between Robin Hood airport and Amsterdam Schiphol, using 19-seater Jetstream aircraft.

The firm, which also specialises in corporate aviation services, will trial the new scheduled service between Doncaster-Sheffield and Amsterdam from September 5 until October 28, departing Doncaster at 0730 (Monday to Friday), arriving in Amsterdam at 1000.

The return leg will leave the Netherlands at 1840, landing back in the UK at 1910. Fully flexible fares start from £315 return for the one hour 30 minute flight.

The Jetstream 32 aircraft is configured for six rows of 1-2, plus one seat on its own at the back of the aircraft. Seat pitch is 31 inches, and passengers will have a combined luggage limit of 20kg (a maximum of one small piece of hand luggage and one checked piece). Complimentary water and “a light snack” will be served on board, and a selection of magazines will also be available.

There are currently no direct services from Robin Hood airport to Amsterdam Schiphol – other options in the region include flights from Durham Tees Valley or Humberside with KLM, or Leeds Bradford with either KLM or Jet2.
