Air France launches mobile flight status service

4 May 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Air France and KLM passengers can now opt to be kept informed of delays, cancellations and gate changes in real time via their smartphone, and even be informed by text if their baggage has gone missing.

Air France Connect has been in a soft launch phase since February, but has now been officially launched alongside the carrier’s other mobile services including electronic boarding passes and mobile ticket purchasing.

The free service enables Air France to inform passengers either by phone, text or email from 14 days before departure of any cancellation, flight delay, boarding gate change or delay in baggage delivery.

Air France called the new service “the most extensive in the world”, and said that its aim is to “become the established leader in mobile customer services and gradually to extend the scope of its mobile website and apps to offer customers reliable services throughout their trip”.

Air France Connect is currently available in Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian – for more information visit airfrance.co.uk.
