Muscat-based Oman Air is to resume flights to the East African destination of Zanzibar later this month, and will also launch services between Salalah and Dubai.
The carrier will operate a twice-weekly service between Salalah and Dubai from May 4 (Wednesdays and Saturdays), and three-times weekly flights between Muscat and Zanzibar from May 16 (Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays).
There are currently no direct, non-stop flights between the UK and Zanzibar, the autonomous region of the United Republic of Tanzania. Oman Air recently announced a codeshare agreement with Bmi, allowing customers to book flights from Bmi’s UK departure points through to Oman Air’s hub in Muscat (see online news April 1).
