Chhatrapati Shivaji International set for temporary shut down

26 Apr 2011

Flights in and out of Mumbai will be rescheduled or delayed over the next few days due to planned closure of the intersection of both runways at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

The hub was closed Saturday, April 23, from 1130 to 1630, and another shut down is scheduled to take place on April 30 during the same time frame. Though the airport is now open, passengers are warned of further delays as the airport manages the backlog.

The closures are due to the airport realigning the runway edge lights after the two runways were widened to accommodate larger aircraft such as the Airbus A380.
