Boutique Amsterdam hotel the Dylan has refurbished ten of its 40 individually designed rooms.

The new “Loxura” rooms are inspired by the bronze-coloured Loxura butterfly and are situated around the property’s courtyard garden.

They feature natural materials such as mother of pearl, marble, horn and shell, velvet chairs, hand-woven rugs on wooden floors, local artworks, bespoke wooden drinks cabinets, coffeemakers, iPod dock and flatscreen TVs at least 32 inches in size. They have been designed by FG Stijl, an English-Dutch partnership.

The hotel is also about to add a boat with a kitchen called Vinckeles on the Water, which will able to host groups. Audry van de Merwe, the property’s director of sales and marketing, said it would provide “a chef’s table on the water”.

The property plans to upgrade another batch of rooms at the beginning of next year.

The Dylan is located on Keizersgracht canal, within the Nine Streets shopping district and close to Anne Frank House. It first opened as the Blakes a decade ago and was renamed five years ago.
