Bmi Regional to increase Scottish services

18 Apr 2011 by AndrewGough

Bmi Regional has announced plans to increase services from Edinburgh and Glasgow this summer.

The airline, which specialises in operating business jets on niche routes, will add a Friday and Sunday flight between Edinburgh and Copenhagen from June 3 until August 28.

Bmi Regional will also add a Saturday flight between Glasgow and Copenhagen over the same period, taking the route to a daily timetable.

From Edinburgh to Zurich, the full-service carrier will operate additional flights on Monday and Friday during it summer schedule.

Steven Griffiths, Bmi Regional’s business director, said: “Adding extra rotations to these popular routes from Edinburgh and Glasgow will help meet the increasing demand from corporate and leisure customers this summer.”

The move comes shortly after Bmi scrapped its flights between London Heathrow and Glasgow.

“As the home of bmi Regional, we are strongly committed to Scotland,” added Griffiths.
