Rezidor’s Park Inn brand is to open a 235-room hotel adjacent to Wembley Stadium, adding to the group’s forthcoming Park Inn property at London’s Excel.
Park Inn London Wembley will be located 300 metres from the stadium, on the pedestrian zone leading to the main entrance.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2012, in time for the Olympic Games, for which Wembley will host football matches.
The area is also likely to be increasingly popular for business travellers over the next few years, with the Wembley City development currently under construction and set to add new offices, residential apartments, retail space and leisure facilities.
The hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, 300sqm of meeting space, and a gym, and will be situated around 30 minutes from Heathrow, where Park Inn also has a property close to Terminals 1, 2, 3.
The mid-market brand is also scheduled to open a 223-room hotel at London’s Excel Exhibition Centre in 2013 – for more information see online news January 18. There are currently no Park Inn hotels in central London, with the group’s Russell Square property having recently been rebranded under Hilton’s Doubletree brand (see online news March 3).
