Cathay Pacific Airways (CX) has reopened Level 6 of The Wing, signalling the completion of the first phase of an extensive renovation project.
The makeover of CX's premium signature lounge, located by gate 2 of the departure level of Hong Kong International Airport, is the work of London-based Foster + Partners, which also created Cathay’s fourth departure lounge – The Cabin (see story here). Passengers will find similar design details, such as the Cathay Solus Chair and the use of granite, marble and dark woods.
As part of the redesign, all 26 workstations, featuring individual computers and printers, were moved to this area. Level 6 now also comes with nine Solus chairs and a more extensive buffet.
The second phase of refurbishment begins in May and will focus on Level 7, closing that section down for eight months. The third phase will centre on the First Class lounge, commencing within the first quarter of next year.
Level 6 of The Wing is open to First and Business class passengers as well as to its loyalty programme members whose status are Silver and above, Marco Polo Club members, as well as Sapphire and above and oneworld members. Opening hours are from 0530 till the departure of the last flight.
