Budget airline Easyjet is to connect Manchester and Bilbao with a thrice-weekly service, commencing June 17.
Tickets for the new service – the first to connect the two cities, according to Easyjet – go on sale today. Nectar card holders will from March 22 be able to use their points to pay for these and other Easyjet flights (see online news March 13).
Ali Gayward, Easyjet's UK commercial manager, said the new route would "build upon Easyjet’s presence at Manchester Airport and further strengthen the region’s economic links with the Basque Country."
Manchester airport is experiencing an influx of new services or increased frequencies, not least of all from the Middle Eastern carriers (see online news March 9).
Bilbao in Spain’s Basque Country is home to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which helped boost the city’s urban regeneration of the 1990s.
