Qatar to launch Oslo, Sofia and Kolkata routes

9 Mar 2011 by BusinessTraveller

The Doha-based carrier has announced three new routes to Norway, Bulgaria and India, joining the growing list of new destinations for this year.

Daily flights to Kolkata will commence on July 27, with a four-times weekly service to Sofia starting on September 14, and five-times weekly flights to Oslo will launch on October 5.

The new flights add to recently launched routes to Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels and Stuttgart, with Aleppo, Shiraz, Venice and Montreal all set to follow over the next few months.

The flights to Kolkata mean the carrier will serve India with 95 weekly services across 12 cities, while Oslo is Qatar's third Scandinavian destination, joining Stockholm and Copenhagen.

The airline is also going to a double-daily service on its Manchester route from June (see online news February 22), and is also set to increase capacities and / or frequencies on routes to Bengalaru, Barcelona, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Dar Es Salaam, Geneva, Muscat, Karachi, Paris, Seychelles, Copenhagen, Munich and Frankfurt.
