Economy passengers on domestic Continental routes will no longer be given free in-flight snacks.
The carrier dropped the practice of giving out free pretzels or Biscoff cookies to economy passengers last week, with US media reporting that the move could save the airline up to US$2.8 million per year.
The change is in line with merged partner United, which charges for in-flight snacks in economy cabins on domestic routes.
American Airlines and US Airways have also dropped free snacks for doemestic economy passengers, but Delta currently continues to offer “complimentary peanuts, pretzels or Biscoff cookies”.
