Marriott announces expansion in Germany, France and Poland

Marriott International will open two Courtyard properties in Germany and France next year, as well as a Renaissance hotel in Poland in 2013. The 139-room Ramada Hotel Wiesbaden is to be rebranded as the Courtyard Wiesbaden Nordenstadt Hotel, and will feature an Oleo Pazzo Mediterranean restaurant, outdoor terrace and 24-hour Market. The spa town of Wiesbaden is located in southwestern Germany, with Frankfurt International airport around 20 minutes’ drive. The Courtyard Montpellier Hotel in southern France will be located next to Montpellier City Hall, and will feature 124 rooms, Oleo Pazzo Mediterranean restaurant, 24-hour Market and an outdoor heated swimming pool. Finally the 225-room Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel will be the third Marriott-branded hotel in Warsaw, joining the Warsaw Marriott Hotel and Courtyard Warsaw Airport. The property will feature over 900sqm of meeting space, an indoor swimming pool, and a health and leisure centre. The latest announcements are part of Marriott’s plans to double it European portfolio by 2015 (see online news March 16, 2010). Recent agreements include a joint venture with Spanish group AC Hotels (see online news October 11, 2010), and Marriott’s first Finnish property due to open in 2013 (see online news February 3).
