Starwood’s W Hotels brand will debut in mainland China – via Guangzhou – at the end of the year.
The 320-room property is located in the city’s emerging Pearl River commercial district. It caters to corporate travellers with a 24-hour business centre and 1,257sqm of meeting space, consisting of three function rooms and two ballrooms equipped with wifi and audio-video facilities. Venues are infused with the unique Sensory Set up, which provides mood music and signature scents when necessary to get ideas flowing.
Other facilities include a gym, an indoor swimming pool and W's signature Bliss Spa and around-the-clock-concierge services, dubbed "Whatever/Whenever".
Meanwhile, W Taipei opened today as with W Hotel London (see story here), kicking off a series of imminent debuts in Bali (W Retreat and Spa in March 2011, St Petersburg (March) and Paris (December).
