Short haul airline Cityjet has opened a new “Direct Transfer Facility” at its London hub, in response to a growing demand for connecting flights.
Cityjet said an “increasing number” of its customers were connecting via LCY to its growing European network. The announcement coincides with the launch of its routes to Florence – as previously reported on Business Traveller (see online news October 22) – and also Avignon and Toulon.
Passengers with onward connections at LCY can proceed straight to the new Cityjet transfer desk, located next to UK Border Control, before being escorted through security and on to the departure lounge or their gate. Baggage will also be checked through to its final destination.
Last month, the airport won a High Court battle over proposed expansion plans which would see annual aircraft movements rise from 80,000 to 120,000 (see online news January 21).
