BlackBerry users can now plan their trips on the go with the integrated travel application iSpeedy Travel that is available for free from BlackBerry App World.
The application, initially introduced on the iPhone in 2009, has now expanded to include new functions and a separate corporate version.
The application uses the Amadeus API and connects users to the Amadeus travel search tools, enabling users to make immediate bookings with a variety of flights, car hire firms and hotels. The application also stores users’ frequent flyer programme profiles and credit card information to make transactions smoother.
The new functions on the upgraded version include the integration of social media channels to share booking and itinerary information with Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn friends.
The corporate version, iSpeedy Corporate, links all employees to a centralised company user account. The application then enables users to claim their work-related travel expenses through the integrated system and allows corporations to set travel budgets and cost limits. This version is available for both the BlackBerry and the iPhone for US$29.99.
