Qatar Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Brazilian low cost carrier, GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, thus expanding its presence into Brazil.
The agreement will see Qatar’s QR code on GOL flights from Sao Paolo to 47 other Brazilian destinations. Currently, Qatar flies from Doha to Sao Paolo daily. Flights depart from Doha at 0755 and arrive in Sao Paolo at 1730. Return flights depart Sao Paolo at 0420, arriving back in Doha at 2310.
The agreement would also see a collaboration between the two frequent flyer programmes – Qatar Airways’ Privileges Club and GOL SMILES programme.
The agreement has yet to be approved by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency and the Antitrust Agency therefore commencement dates for the codeshare routes have not been determined.
The agreement will provide passengers with seamless access to other major cities in Brazil, such as the capital Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro.
