Air France has launched its latest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Paris CDG-Ho Chi Minh City route, with passengers being the first to try out the carrier’s new business class offering.
The angled lie-flat seating is two metres long when converted into a bed, and includes new features such as a fixed footrest, more storage space, “seat controls which are easier to use”, and a 15-inch 16:9 format TV screen. Over 40 B777, A380 and A330 aircraft will be fitted with the new seating over the next three years.
Meanwhile all passengers will benefit from new self-service bars with fridge / freezer display cabinets in each cabin, offering Haagen Dasz ice creams (depending on flight length).
All cabins also feature the carrier’s new Panasonic IFE system, with USB sockets, touch sensitive screens in 16:9 format, and around 600 hours of programmes. Passengers can check what films will be showing on their flight by visiting the Air France website, with January’s choices including David Fincher’s The Social Network, The American starring George Clooney, and Woody Allen’s latest London movie You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.
Air France has a total of 11 of the new B777-300ER aircraft on order, with four due for delivery by this May.
