LOT’s “Polonez” lounge will next week open its doors to passengers travelling through Warsaw’s Chopin Airport.
The lounge, which opens on December 22, will also be available to those passengers travelling in business class on any airline in the Star Alliance rewards network, those with Star Alliance Gold status and those holding HON, Senator or FTL status with Lufthansa’s Miles and More programme.
Because of its location within the airport’s Schengen zone, one floor up from Terminal A’s departure level, the lounge is only available to those travelling from and connecting through Warsaw within the Schengen zone, as well as on Non-Schengen to Schengen connections.
The 527sqm, 74-seat lounge will be open from 0500-2300 each day. The airline said opening hours had been chosen to fit with its flight schedule, although they may be extended in the future.
No images of the lounge are available as yet but a “wall of greenery” and mini-waterfalls are expected to feature prominently, as well as leather armchairs and sofas.
There will be free wifi for passengers with laptops and other wifi-enabled devices such as smartphones and iPads. PC workstations for those without will be installed at a later date.
The name Polonez comes from Polonaise, a dance of Polish origin. Polonaise itself is French for "Polish".
