Train operator Heathrow Express has laid claim to a UK first with the release of a new app allowing smartphone users to buy rail tickets while on the move.
The app also allows users to receive tickets and service updates to their smartphones, but so far it’s only available to those with Blackberry or Android devices. An iPhone version is due for release in the New Year.
Heathrow Express MD Richard Robinson said that with Blackberry “dominating the business market, it made sense to introduce an app that most of our customers can use.”
