Jetstar to roll out direct Singapore-Melbourne service

Low cost carrier, Jetstar, will be introducing its first daily direct long-haul service between Singapore and Melbourne on December 16, 2010.

Currently, the carrier flies to Melbourne via Darwin.

The direct route will be serviced by the Airbus A330, which can carry up to 303 passengers. The aircraft will have a two-class configuration: the Jetstar premium class – StarClass and the economy section.

The flight will depart from Singapore at 2050 and arrive in Melbourne 0630 the next day. The return leg will depart from Melbourne at 1200 and arrive back in Singapore at 1650.

The airline also plans to expand direct long haul services to Auckland in March next year.
