Canada issues visa waiver policy for Taiwan citizens

23 Nov 2010

Taiwan citizens can now enter Canada without a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for visits of up to six months due to a new visa waiver policy

Those with Taiwan passports, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, containing personal identification numbers (PIN), are eligible for visa free entry.

Those who have recently applied for a TRV may receive a refund if eligible (check eligibility by contacting the Visa section through the following email address: [email protected]). Those applying for work in Canada and looking to stay in the country for longer will need to apply for work permits and visas in the normal way.

Taiwanese visitors will still need to satisfy immigration officers at the port of entry that they fulfil all requirements to enter Canada.
