Premier Inn signs Abu Dhabi Airport deal

5 Nov 2010 by AndrewGough

Budget hotel chain Premier Inn has signed an agreement to open a 300-room hotel at Abu Dhabi International Airport, slated to open in 2012.

The deal, worth more than AED 120 million (£20 million), will see Premier Inn attempt to attract travellers flying to and from the Abu Dhabi hub with its budget proposition.

The new hotel will be located opposite the new Terminal 3 facilities, and will be linked to T1 and T3 by a corridor housing shops and lounges. The hotel itself will have an all-day restaurant, bar, coffee shop and meeting rooms.

Premier Inn will build the hotel as part of an agreement with Abu Dhabi Airports Company, operator of all five of the emirate’s airports.

Darroch Crawford, Premier Inn’s MD for the Middle East, said its “prominent locations at value for money prices” would allow it to “dramatically” increase its business and leisure customer base in the region.

This will be the second Premier Inn to open in Abu Dhabi, with Premier Inn ADNEC slated to open next year (pictured), and its fifth in the region with three already open in Dubai (see online news January 13).
