Hyatt Regency brand debuts in Pune

2 Nov 2010 by BusinessTraveller

Hyatt has opened its first hotel in the Indian city of Pune, a 222-room Hyat Regency property in the city’s Weikfield IT Park, close to Lohegaon International Airport.

The new-build Hyatt Regency Pune is clad in Rajasthani stone, and features two restaurants, a bar, a club lounge, “gourmet store”, business centre, spa, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, and 1,900sqm of meeting space.

Design elements include outdoor water fountains, a marble lobby with floor to ceiling glass walls, digital artwork, a chandelier with “thousands of icicle-like shards of glimmering crystal”, and a coloured glass bridge running through the upper lobby to the meeting facilities.

Rooms include 40-inch TVs, iPod docking stations, wired and wifi internet access and bathrooms with free standing tubs and separate showers. In addition to the 222 guestrooms, 84 serviced apartments are scheduled to open in 2011.

The Hyatt Regency Pune joins six existing Hyatt properties in India and Nepal – the Hyatt Regency Delhi, the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, the Hyatt Regency Kolkata, the Hyatt Regency Mumbai, the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, and the Grand Hyatt Mumbai. A further Regency hotel is also under development in Chennai, along with a Grand Hyatt property in Goa.
