BA and AMEX are offering another bonus miles promotion over the next few weeks. Travellers who sign up for the British Airways American Express credit card before midnight on November 8 will qualify for extra BA miles.
New cardholders will receive 3,000 BA miles when £500 or more is spent on the card in the first three months, and existing cardholders who recommend a friend by November 5 can earn 4,000 BA miles. The friend must sign up by midnight on November 8 and then spend £500 on the card within the first three months to also receive 4,000 BA miles.
Holders of the British Airways American Express Premium Plus card who recommend a friend to sign up for the Premium Plus card will receive 9,000 BA miles, and those friends will in turn receive 19,000 miles when they spend £3,000 or more on the card in the first three months. There is an annual fee of £150 for this card.
New cardholders who sign up without being recommended will receive 18,000 BA miles when they spend £3,000 or more on the card in the first three months. For every friend they go on to recommend who is accepted for the card, they will receive an additional 9,000 miles.
How far the miles will get you:
9,000 miles is enough for a return economy flight to Europe Zone 1 (destinations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Lyon or Nice).
19,000 BA miles is enough for a return economy flight to European Zone 2 (destinations such as Barcelona or Rome).
27,000 BA miles is enough for a return economy flight to a destination such as Larnaca in Cyprus or Istanbul, or two flights to Berlin or Nice.
