The Mandarin Oriental Pudong Shanghai will add to the already extensive hotel inventory of China's most showy gateway when it opens in 2013.
Located in the Lujiazhui Central Business District, it forms part of the Harbour City mixed-use development which will also comprise office towers as well as a residential and retail component and extensive landscaping. The hotel will have 362 guestrooms and 210 residences.
Nearby is the Shanghai Stock Exchange and buildings housing the offices of major domestic, regional and international companies.
Onsite facilities will include an extensive range of meeting venues and a grand ballroom, three eclectic restaurants, a 25m indoor pool, a gym and the Spa at Mandarin Oriental.
Partners in this upscale project are Hong Kong-listed Citic Pacific and Shanghai Rui Ming Real Estate Company.
