British Airways will fly from London Gatwick to the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan (via Antigua) from March next year.
The twice-weekly service will commence on March 28, 2011, and will be plied with a three-class economy, premium economy and business class Boeing 777.
Flight BA2157 will depart Gatwick on Monday and Friday at 1040, arriving in Antigua at 1405, before continuing onto San Juan at 1505 and arriving at 1610. The return leg BA2156 will leave Puerto Rico at 1740, landing in Antigua at 1850, then continuing to London at 2005 and arriving at 0850 the following day.
The year-round service means BA will serve 15 Caribbean destinations, which it says is more than any other airline from Europe. There are currently no direct, non-stop services from London to San Juan, although BA does offer codeshare services with American Airlines from London Heathrow via both New York and Miami.
