Refresh for Hong Kong hospitality landmark

6 Oct 2010

Luk Kwok Hotel, immortalised by Richard Mason in The World of Suzie Wong, has been rebranded as the Gloucester Luk Kwok Hotel

Opened in the 1930s and rebuilt in the 1980s, the 196-room hotel has completed an extensive refurbishment which includes state-of-the-art technology and modern decor, along with some of the original colonial touches.

Located in Wan Chai close to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, it has been skewered toward the corporate market. The Falcon Room, which can accommodate 200 people, can be sectioned off for large or small seminars and meetings. There are also three conference rooms on the 21st, 25th and 29th floors. Events will be supplied with the latest audio-visual facilities, while the business centre provides workstations with printers, fax machines and scanners. Wi-Fi internet access is available in all of these areas as well as in guestrooms.

Other facilities include two restaurants – Le Menu and Canton Room – a lobby lounge and fitness centre.
