BAA sells Naples airport

5 Oct 2010 by BusinessTraveller

Spanish-owned airport operator BAA has sold its stake in Naples International Airport, as part of a strategic refocusing on its UK facilities.

The €150 million sale to Italian infrastructure fund F2i SGR SpA follows the sale of Gatwick airport last year (see online news October 21, 2009), and the offloading of international assets including Budapest airport and World Duty Free shops.

BAA’s CEO Colin Matthews said that it was the right time for Naples to “move ahead under new owners and for us to sharpen our focus on Heathrow and our other UK airports”.
