The Langham to open in Shenzhen's new CBD

1 Oct 2010

Futian, an emerging business district in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, can expect a Langham hotel to open in 2012. Partners in the project are Langham Hotels International and Shenzhen East Pacific Group.

The 352-room hotel will form part of the Shenzhen East Pacific International Centre that also includes serviced apartments, luxury retail and commercial space, all a short ride to the Hongkong border and 30 minutes to the international airport. Nearby is the landmark China Merchant Bank building.

Facilities resembling those offered in other Langhams include the two-storey Langham Club lounge offering classic butler service, Palm Court serving afternoon tea just like in London, T'ang Court with six private rooms, a sibling of the two-Michelin star restaurant in Hongkong and a bar with an extensive wine cellar and open fireplaces.

The Star Ballroom will come with exclusive lifts and have five function spaces, offering a variety of set ups. A gym, the Chuan Spa specialising in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and an indoor as well as an outdoor swimming pools bring up the leisure amenities.

Over the part two years, a number of branded properties have opened in Futian, including the Crowne Plaza, Marco Polo, Shangri-La, Sheraton, The Ritz-Carlton and The Westin.
