Low-cost long-haul airline Air Asia X has become the latest carrier to announce services into Tokyo’s convenient Haneda airport.
The KL-Tokyo route will be the carrier’s 12th destination, commencing on December 9 and offering a three-time weekly service using new A330 aircraft, fitted with “Premium FlatBed seats” which have a 60-inch pitch.
The schedule calls for flight D72652 to leave KL at 1440 on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, arriving into Haneda at 2230, with the return leg D72653 departing Tokyo at 2345 and landing back in Kuala Lumpur at 0630 the next day.
To celebrate the new route the carrier is offering promotional one-way fares from RM99, for bookings made before September 26 and travel between December 9, 2010, and July 31, 2011. These fares are subject to availability, on a first-come first-served basis.
Several carriers have recently announced international routes into Haneda airport (where restrictions on long-haul flights are gradually being lifted), including BA (see online news September 21). For our report on expansion at the airport from earlier this year, click here.
