Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and SATS (Singapore Airport Terminal Services) have introduced a new city check-in service. At press time, it's only available for passengers flying Singapore Airlines and subsidiary SilkAir and only from Monday to Thursday between 1000 and 1800.
MBS executives said they would monitor customer demand and adjust the hours accordingly should their be a need. More airlines would also be added to the roster in the months ahead.
The counters are near the MBS coach terminal and guests, staying at either Marina Bay Sands or other hotels around Singapore, can proceed there, check check-in, claim their boarding passes and baggage tags check-in three hours before departure. The service is free for those checking in with no luggage, while there is a S$25 (US$18) handling charge for every two bags checked. Accepted luggage will then be sent for screening at Changi Airport.
