Air China is taking further advantage of Japan's easing of visa restrictions for Chinese tourists, launching twice weekly non-stop flights between Chengdu and Tokyo on September 22, 2010.
Currently, Air China flies from Chengdu to Japan seven times weekly to Tokyo via Beijing, seven times weekly to Nagoya via Shanghai and three times weekly to Osaka via Dalian. The new service cuts travel time between Chengdu and Tokyo by at least two hours and 20 minutes.
Flight CA423 departs from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 0800 and arrives in Tokyo at 13:40 local time, every Wednesday and Saturday. Return flight CA424 leaes Tokyo Narita Airport at 1450 local time and arrive in Chengdu at 1920.
Since Japan has opened itself up to Chinese travellers in July, the numbers have continued to rise with Sichuan province as one of the top visitor generators.
