Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce JAL Suite, the new First class product, on its daily Tokyo (Narita)-Jakarta service from October 31, 2010.
The Boeing B777-300ER, used on the route, also features JAL Shell Flat Neo (Business class) seats, Premium economy seats and Economy seats.
The new cabin products were introduced a year ago on long-haul flights, including those to Chicago, Los Angeles and London Heathrow (see news or a flight review of JAL Premium economy class on a B777-300).
Strong corporate travel demand on the Tokyo-Jakarta route, with loads especially high on the weekends, has led to the need for more seats onboard, a JAL spokesperson told Business Traveller. Besides Jakarta, aircraft changes have also been made between Tokyo (Narita) and Seoul Incheon, Singapore and Honolulu, as well as between Nagoya (Chubu) and Tianjin.
For its winter schedule from October 31, JAL has increased frequencies between Tokyo (Narita) and Delhi from three to four flights weekly, and reduced frequencies between Tokyo (Narita) and Moscow from three to two flights weekly.
