IHG’s upmarket Intercontinental brand has opened a 607-room property close to Times Square, the city’s largest new-build hotel since 2002.
The Intercontinental New York Times Square is located on 8th Avenue and 44th Street, and joins the brand’s existing property in the Big Apple, the Intercontinental New York Barclay on 111 East 48th Street.
The 36-floor hotel (the largest new-build hotel in New York to achieve LEED certification from the US Green Building Council) features 607 rooms, with 25 Panormaic Avenue Suites, and a 250sqm presidential suite. All rooms feature 42-inch TVs, as well as work areas with touchscreen computers and free wifi.
Facilities include French restaurant Ca Va, a lobby level courtyard garden with pool, 10 meetings rooms with over 900sqm of meeting space and including a 370sqm ballroom.
