Hotel Indigo opens second London property

7 Jul 2010 by BusinessTraveller

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the second London property under its boutique Hotel Indigo brand, with a 46-room hotel located near Tower Bridge.

Hotel Indigo London Tower Hill is housed within an eight-floor converted office building on Minories, within easy walking distance of Aldgate, Aldgate East and Tower Hill tube stations, as well as Fenchurch Street railway station and Tower Gateway on the Docklands Light Railway.

The hotel features 44 rooms and two suites, as well as a bar and two restaurants. The property joins the Hotel Indigo London Paddington which opened in January 2009 (see online news January 20, 2009), along with further properties under development in London, and two hotels due to open in Liverpool and Glasgow next year (see online news October 9, 2009).

IHG’s boutique brand now has 34 hotels worldwide, with 53 in the pipeline. The group plans to open its first property in Asia (the Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund) later this year, and has signed its first hotel in Thailand (Bangkok), with an expected opening date of the end of 2012.
