Summer is in high gear. And so are hotels and resorts which have been rolling out a myriad of packages, offering not only discounted room rates and dining freebies, but fun and cultural activities as well.
The Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel pampers guests for A$329 (US$275), a rate that includes deluxe room accommodation, breakfast, De Bortoli wine pack (two bottles per stay), late check out and a Salavatore Ferregamo’s Tuscan Soul gift box, consisting of bath and shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and soap.
JW Marriott Shanghai Marriott Hotel has a shopping package from CNY3,888 (US$572) per night until the end of 2010 for a minimum of two nights and three days advance booking. Benefits include a studio suite, executive floor perks, a personal shopper for four hours, limousine for shopping and a one-hour foot massage.
Until August 31, 2010, Le Méridien Qingdao is charging CNY1,588 (US$235) nightly for a two-night stay in the Deluxe room, which comes with international buffet breakfast for two adults and one child under 12, two tickets for the Tsingdao Beer Museum, free use of the gym, sauna and swimming pool, and free entry to the Qingdao Polar Ocean for two persons including a two-way shuttle bus service.
The Regent Beijing is offering a Deluxe room at CNY988 (US$145) per room per night. Benefits include a daily buffet breakfast, complimentary four cans of soft drink from the minibar per day and free laundry for two pieces of garments per stay. Valid until August 29, 2010.
Sanya Marriott Resort & Spa’s family package starts from at CNY4,586 (US$675) per room per night and includes round-trip airport transfers and arrival amenities such as servings of ice tea and scented cold face towels. Children are given a “Kid’s Cup” that allows them to have unlimited refill at any of the Resort outlets throughout their stay. Offer is valid until November 2, 2010.
Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental has a summer package for CNY1,488 (US$219) valid for stays on weekends. Benefits include a one-night stay at a Luxury Room for two persons, buffet lunch or dinner with free flow of soft drinks and wines at the Vie all-day dining restaurant for two, access to the swimming pools and gym and free broadband internet access.
The Cityview and Noah’s Resort is promoting a family package with rates between HK$1,990 (US$255) and HK$2,970 (US$380) for a two- and three-night stay respectively. Benefits include breakfast buffet for two adults and one child, complimentary extra bed for one accompanied child under 11, free shuttle bus service from the Cityview to Noah’s Resort, free use of the swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Guests can also enjoy 30 percent discount for a dinner buffet at City Cafe, 20 percent discount on a la carte menu at the Balcony at the Cityview and a 10 percent discount on dinner buffet at Harvest Restaurant in Noah’s Resort. Noah’s Ark packages are available at HK$65 (US$8.50) to HK$100 (US$13) per person.
The Harbour Grand Hong Kong is encouraging families to visit, and kids can stay and eat for free. There’s a 25 percent discount for any additional room. Valid from now though September 14, 2010.
Lanson Place Hong Kong has a long-stay summer offer, offering its Superior Queen room and Premier Queen room at HK$25,000 (US$3200) and HK$28,000 (US$3600) respectively for a minimum 30 consecutive nights stay. Benefits include use of the gym, access to the DVD movie library and free Wi-Fi among others. Offer is valid until the end of August 2010.
Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur is offering room discounts of up to 20 percent with 14 or 21 days advance room booking for a minimum of two nights’ stay and full payment upon booking. Rooms have different rates for different time frames. Until August 7, 2010, rates start from MYR499 (US$150) and from August 7 until September 30, rates start MYR355 (US$110). Perks include drinks upon arrival, buffet breakfast at Serena Brasserie, 30 percent discount on laundry and/or pressing, 20 percent discount off the total dinner bill at Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant and Benkay Japanese Restaurant, 20 percent discount at the Spa on choice of body massage and spa treatments, and 15 percent off hair services at Twist Salon.
Until December 31, 2010, The Mandarin Oriental has a family package priced at S$695 (US$500) per night. It includes a City Suite stay, daily American buffet breakfast, free roll-away bed and children’s amenities upon arrival, return transfers and admission to Universal Studios, admission to the Singapore Night Safari and Singapore Flyer and Captain Explorer. A minimum of two-night stay is required.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is running summer offers at its properties in Hua Hin, Samuui, Pattaya, Trat and Krabi. Rates start from THB2,500 (US$76) per night and include breakfast served in bed or on the room terrace on the first morning, dinner for two persons on the first night, guaranteed guestroom upgrade, welcome drink and 20 percent discount on spa treatments. A minimum of three nights booking is required for stays before September 30, 2010.
All three Courtyard by Marriott resorts in Phuket, located on Surin, Patong and Kamala beaches, are offering various leisure packages until July 31, 2010. The golf package starts from THB5,700 (US$175) for a minimum of two nights’ stay including breakfast for two, a one-hour Thai massage treatment for one person and the green fee for a round of golf for one person at either the championship Mission Hills or Loch Palm Courses. The spa package starts from THB4,850 (US$420) also for a minimum of two nights’ stay including breakfast for two, two 120-minute spa treatments and two 60-minute traditional Thai-style massages among others.
The recently opened Paresa Resort in Phuket offers a summer package until the end of August. For THB13,623 (US$420), guests can enjoy daily American breakfast for two at the Diavolo restaurant, free Wi-Fi and use of the gym, sauna and pool. A daily selection of canapés and tropical fruits are served in-room.
Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok is offering Deluxe rooms from THB5,850 (US$180) per night, with daily buffet breakfast for two, airport limousine transfers and complimentary high-speed broadband internet access. Valid until August 31, 2010.
