Green light for private jets at Changi Airport's JetQuay CIP Terminal

29 Jun 2010

Singapore Changi Airport has allowed private jet company New Dimension Aviation to operate out of its exclusive JetQuay CIP Terminal.

New Dimension Aviation's close association with Dubai-based Elite Jets, which possesses a worldwide charter operator’s license, as well as the fact that New Dimension Aviation’s aircraft hold UAE-registered certificates, has led its being able to operate in Singapore.

Nicholas A Janitsary, managing director of New Dimension Aviation, told Business Traveller that two days before the Singapore Air Show in February, his company received a permit by airport authorities to use the facilities of the JetQuay VIP terminal.

“This was the result of a lot discussions and going through a lot of paperwork with them. They also checked all our maintenance schedules before they were satisfied,” he said.

A US military veteran and threat assessment specialist, Janitsary said he was optimistic about the growth in the private executive jet market, especially in this region. “What’s good is that the government here sees the benefits of charter travel. They’re very investor friendly.” Executive jets have been using Changi Airport and Seletar Airport for some time now.

Besides offering charter flights, New Dimensions Aviation also facilitates the sale and management of private business jets. Its partnership with Dubai-based Elite Jets – also providing similar services – has allowed it to capitalise on increasing traffic between the Middle East and Asia.

The company has made it more convenient for high fliers to book charters, by accepting American Express and Diners’ Club cards.

“We’re equipped with the (card) terminals. If someone needs to go somewhere fast, they can just come to the JetQuay CIP Terminal at Changi Airport, have their cards swiped and they can be up in the air in three hours,” said Janitsary.

Currently, the company operates a 14-seat Falcon 900EX and a 15-seat Gulfstream 450, capable of covering medium- to long-haul routes. On the ground, its concierge services consist of transfers wherever requested and any onboard amenities desired by the customer among others.

Changi Airport's JetQuay VIP terminal offers an exclusive environment for guests, a business centre, meeting space, F&B and immigration and customs clearance.
