Customers of Jet Airways will enjoy better access to important US cities as a result of its new code share with star alliance partner United Airlines.
The agreement now applies on tickets being sold from this week onawards for travel from June 30, 2010.
Jet Airways’ airline code 9W now appears on United’s trans-Atlantic flights operating between London and the hubs of Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington as well as United’s daily trans-Pacific services between Hongkong and Chicago and San Francisco. United has also placed its code UA on Jet Airways daily services between London and Mumbai as well as Hongkong and Delhi, as well as on Jet Airways' domestic flights to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata via Mumbai.
JetPrivilege members travelling on Jet Airways marketed and United-operated code-share flights can accrue Tier JP Miles and Tier points, which they can use to maintain or upgrade their tier status in the JetPrivilege programme. This is in addition to Jet Airways and United's 2008 agreement allowing members of JetPrivilege and United's Mileage Plus to accrue and redeem miles when flying each other's services.
