Rhombus International launches privilege card

16 Jun 2010

Rhombus International Hotels Group is introducing the Rhombus Diamond Card, offering cardholders various perks and points that add up to savings and enhanced stays in their properties.

To date, the chain's portfolio consists of mainly Hongkong-based members, Hotel LKF, Hotel Panorama, Hotel Bonaparte and Hotel MO, opening in the Western District in 2011. Its first overseas venture, Hotel Soul in Chengdu is expected to launch in 2011.

The initiative was designed with the time-strapped executive in mind, revealed Calvin Mak, president and CEO of Rhombus International Hotels Group."We do not just offer rewards, but the recognition ‘anytime, every time and anywhere’."

Before arriving, Mak said, customers will receive a pre-registration email from a Guest Service Recognition Officer, featuring a choice of special amenities. At the airport, they can already check in at a dedicated counter. Added Mak: “They do not have to worry about arranging airport transportation as our concierge team can arrange limousine service at a discounted price.”

Every Hongkong dollar spent equals one bonus point, and accumulated points can go toward redeeming room nights, dining vouchers and reduced rates on airport transfers and rentals of meeting facilities

Mak said the concept of a diamond was used as it came from the company name, Rhombus, which also refers to the diamond suite in playing cards. "And diamond means sustainability,” which is what the group hopes to attain with its customers.

The Rhombus Group was established in 1987 in North America. In 2006, it opened its first hotel in Hongkong, Hotel LKF.
