Customers of Cathay Pacific will enjoy better access to Central and Latin America as a result of its new code share with oneworld partner Mexicana Airlines. The agreement, which applies on June 14, 2010, provides better connections and greater convenience when travelling between Hongkong and two major Mexican cities, Mexico City and Guadalajara.
Under the code share, Mexicana’s flights from Mexico and Guadalajara to CX’s North American gateways in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Vancouver will carry the CX code, while CX’s daily services from Hongkong to the same gateways will carry Mexicana’s “MX” code.
As both belong to the oneworld Alliance, passengers travelling on each carrier can earn and redeem frequent flyer rewards across each other's networks and gain entry to partner airline lounges.
In May, CX also introduced a code share with another oneworld partner, LAN, providing links to Santiago, capital of Chile.
