The Green Market to debut in Changi Airport

28 May 2010

The Green Market, a new airport lounge concept by Plaza Premium Lounge Management, is set to open on June 7 at Terminal 2 of Changi Airport in Singapore.

Located few metres from its sister facility the Plaza Premium Lounge on the Departure/Transit Lounge Level 3, the new 204sqm passenger lounge will sport a lot of greenery with earth-toned interiors to evoke a cosy, natural and comfortable ambience.

"Our designer Kinney Chan and Associates uses 'The Green Terrace' concept to bring out the 'Go Green, Go Natural' experience that we want our guests to feel within the premises," Bonnie Sie, marketing manager of Premium Plaza Lounge Management, told Business Traveller.

A key feature of the lounge is its Oxyvital system, which will pump fresh oxygen into the facility throughout the day.

With a seating capacity for 85 people, The Green Market will offer Wi-Fi access and internet stations, television units, magazines and newspapers for passengers' use while waiting for their flight.

Unlike Plaza Premium Lounge, however, The Green Market has a stronger F&B focus. Instead of paying the standard S$30 (US$21) fee, departing passengers at Changi will have to fork out S$32 (US$23) or more  to enter The Green Market. The price will cover their choice main course from the healthy Japanese menu, all-you-can salad and dessert bar as well as tea or coffee. The rate also gives passengers access to other lounge facilities.
