SilkAir adds Bangalore to Indian network

SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines (SIA), increased this week its Indian network to five destinations with daily services to Bangalore. The newly introduced services dovetail wih SIA's existing daily flights to the city.

The capital of Karnataka state is known as the subcontinent’s Sillicon Valley for its concentration of IT companies and industrial parks.Besides targeting business travellers, the airline is also aiming to attract the leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) sectors.

Customers from Bangalore can avail of the convenience of onward connections to more than 90 international cities in the joint Singapore Airlines-SilkAir network.

Next month, SilkAir continues its India expansion starting up the Singapore-Chennai route on June 14, 2010. Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu state. Previous to Bangalore and Chennai, the airline's network included Trivandrum, Kochi, Coimbator and Hydrabad.
