Bmi relaunches domestic lounge at Heathrow

26 Apr 2010 by BusinessTraveller

Bmi has unveiled its refurbished lounge at Heathrow T1 for passengers travelling within the UK and Ireland, dubbed The London Room.

The space “shares key design features” with Bmi’s recently opened international lounge within the same terminal (see online news June 6, 2009 for a review), such as black flock wallpaper and black mirrored glass tiling around the entrance and exits. There are also images of “unusual London scenes” including Borough Market and Camden Lock, and bespoke wallpaper featuring London symbols such as the Beefeaters and black taxis.

The work area has been improved with six PCs and free wifi access throughout, and a new food menu offers continental breakfast until 11am, daytime snacks, cakes served from 4pm (with chocolate fudge, and lemon and blackcurrant drizzle being this month’s choices), “coffee to go”, and retro British sweets including lemon sherbets.

Washrooms have also been refurbished, and now offer Miller Harris Citron handwash. Guests who are in the lounge between 4pm and 6pm on April 26-28 will be able to sample The Bergamot, a tea created by Lyn Harris, founder of Miller Harris.

The London Room is available to Gold and Silver Diamond Club members, and customers travelling on Felixible Economy and Economy Extra tickets.
