Starwood will expand its Sheraton hotel brand in Seoul with a third property to be located at D-Cube City, the Korean capital's new lifestyle hub that will open next year.
To be called the Sheraton Seoul D-Cube City, the new-build hotel will occupy floors 27 to 41 of the 41-storey of main tower of the multi-use complex. It will have 269 guestrooms and suites, more than 600sqm meeting space, two restaurants, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and an 800sqm spa facility. It is targeted to open in September 2011.
Besides the new Sheraton hotel, the main tower of D-Cube City will hold office and residential spaces, a commercial mall, theatres and a 46,000sqm convention space.
“This hotel and the mixed customer-centric facilities that surround it, promise guests a whole lot of exciting and interesting facilities to enjoy," said Lothar Pehl, regional vice-president of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Japan, Korea and Guam.
Starwood currently operates five hotels in Korea, four of them are in Seoul. These are The Westin Chosun Seoul, W Seoul-Walkerhill, Sheraton Grande Walkerhill, Sheraton Incheon Hotel and The Westin Chosun Busan.
